A Walk with Isa

  Categorised under: Lindwall Releasing

The book “The Initiate, Some Impressions of a Great Soul” by his pupil, (Cyril Scott) was first published in 1920.”The author maintains that Mahatmas and Masters do not all live in seclusion, nor are they all Indians but of divers nationalities, English included. They are to be found by those who know how to seek them all over the world”. ( Alden Cole). This book is an account of a Master teacher who lived in England in the early 20th Century. He was known amongst the socialites of the time. He lived as an ordinary man and became known to his students as a friend and teacher. In this way he taught his students how to practice a spiritual discipline. By being in close contact with his students he was able to impart knowledge to them and still appear to be an ordinary person.

At times Tibetan Buddhist teachers appeared who also interacted with their students on a personal level. They became known as Crazy Wisdom Masters.

I dreamt of meeting such a teacher who would break bread with me. A teacher who did not rule from an ivory tower. One who knew the plight of being an ordinary person yet capable of wisdom and compassion.

Isa Lindwall was such a teacher. He lived the life of a householder, adored his wife and companion, he served his community as a Chiropractor and healer.

Isa radiated love and warmth. He embraced all those he met with compassion. He could not pass those who suffered without offering love and healing to the person.

At times he appeared to be stern and a taskmaster. He never taught us to do a healing process that he would not do himself. He also assured us that we were capable of doing the work that he did. Isa was tireless in serving his community and never felt that anyone was unworthy of his attention. I witnessed occasions when a  workshop participant would dominate the course by demanding answers to their many questions. Instead of pushing such needy ones away he would draw them closer and patiently answer their queries and listen to their stories.

In 1997 I was privileged to organise Isa and Yolanda’s South African Tour to the Western Cape. Over the following five years they spent many months in South Africa touring and teaching. I was constantly in their company and became a facilitator on their workshops. I was trained as a practitioner, facilitator, and teacher.

I met Isa and Yolanda and their assistants at the first workshop in Cape Town. It was 18th October, 1997. I experienced an instant feeling of recognition. It seemed as if we had a deep soul connection possibly from many past lives. It was an auspicious meeting and the beginning of a life changing journey.

Lindwall Releasing is an easy to learn method of self development. It was a means through which Isa and Yolanda could reach many people and influence them to take control of their own healing process. If one practised Releasing on a regular basis one could release burdensome beliefs and experience freedom from negative conditioning. Isa and Yolanda demonstrated this by using this method in their lives. They walked their talk. The Releasing initiative was a compassionate way and the Lindwalls were able to create a safe space in which meaningful changes could take place within individuals and therefore affect the greater community.

Isa was a catalyst for evolution in my and other lives. I was privileged to work in close proximity to Isa and Yolanda as they shared their wisdom and knowledge with us .I am deeply connected to them on a soul level. I witnessed many extraordinary events. .My closeness to Isa formed a sacred link between us. He imparted non-verbal and verbal instructions to me on esoteric teachings and healing methods. I awoke from my ’sleep’ and my inner eyes and ears opened. With my psychic abilities and healing gift fully revealed I participated in their mission to awaken those who came to them to their greater selves. I became intuitively tuned to others pain and could envision the earlier causes of their present life challenges.

During this period I lived my true purpose without reserve and flourished in their supportive and loving presence. We belonged to the same soul family and had a common mission.

He walked amongst us and many knew him not! Many gave him divine status and revered him even though he was opposed to such adulation. He was not hypocritical and did not hide the challenges he faced while battling his demons including his ego.

I read once that if one wanted to keep company with a living master, one must learn to run. This was true. Isa was in his eighties when I met him and indeed I had to learn to run to keep up with him!

Isa’s method of teaching was an oral tradition. To my knowledge he had not written anything other than The New Laws of Life, the Children of the Light and Basic Soul Patterns in the Releasing work”

Isa imparted his deep wisdom to those who were ready to learn and heal. He was  compassionate and kind towards those who crossed his path.

He was emotionally moved by the South African situation. Isa clairvoyantly tuned in to the many causes of our karmic contracts with others and assisted us to end these binding chains , forgive one another and let go.

In Africa he was acutely aware of the manner in which the Ancestors could play a negative role in individuals lives. Owing to the cultural beliefs about the power of the Ancestors to influence every aspect of their lives, many were unable to become whole human beings. Many times he met with an Ancestor on the Astral plane and encouraged them to release the individual from the binding contracts and beliefs to move into the Light. In this way a greater prospect of individuation was possible. Isa wished to free humanity from the blinding power of erroneous beliefs and conditioning. He did this with passion and unselfish love.

Personal Experiences.
The first workshop in Cape Town took place in the Sufi Temple. It was  the venue where I first met Isa and Yolanda and their assistants.

I could sense the powerful energy that permeated the room. After introductions, a talk on the theory and a description of the Releasing method, we were ready to work. I followed Isa as he walked around the room assisting the participants. I began to feel emotional and the sorrow and helplessness I felt at my own circumstances began to surface. Isa had to balance my energies and release some damaging beliefs.

Yolanda quickly accessed my grief at the recent death of my 15 year old son. I could feel shifts in my perceptions and a great relief as my emotions surfaced and I was able to let them go. I began to feel much lighter.

Isa and Yolanda stayed in my home. Over time he was  like a  surrogate father to me, since my father died when I was five years old. I regarded them as surrogate grand parents to my children.

Every moment of each day was filled with amazing encounters. Isa seemed to be in tune with a different drummer. Wherever we went we had to keep an eye on him as he would be operating on a different frequency. We had to keep him in present time between encounters with people.

I would transport them to appointments. On completion he would use his radar and tell me to head for a coffee shop. On arrival it would  synchronise with the appearance of the shop owners who ‘happened’ to be connected to him from past incarnations and were soul family. Specific people would arrive with whom he had a special bond. Then meaningful Releasing sessions would follow and Isa would share relevant information with some people about there past that needed to be healed.

When they visited South Africa for I I became part of this family. After a workshop we would head off to restaurants to feast. Every meal was a celebration Isa loved red wine, coffee and good food. We would toast him and Yolanda and  everyone present and absent.

Being with Isa was fun and we were happy.  Intense regression sessions and healing seamlessly took place. I was stimulated and on a wonderful high. My life had meaning. I found the way I wanted to practice healing.

There was no dogma nor sanctimonious religiosity. Deep evolutionary healing took place. We were a ‘family’  enjoying a fantastic auspicious reunion. The whole tour was like that. I travelled with them to Johannesburg, Durban, Knysna, Cape Town, George , and Stellenbosch. As we worked and bonded, miraculous changes were happening within us and around us. It seemed too good to last. I experienced first hand how a true teacher operated. He was generous, unselfish, giving and passed on his knowledge without any thought of reward.

Those five years passed too quickly and the day arrived when they left only to return five years later . When Isa arrived in South Africa 2006, he was ill. He had been on a radical fast and had shrunk in weight. He was still a beacon of light. His eyes shimmered like diamonds. He was fired with a passion to give us all a parting gift of himself.

He spent time in Stellenbosch. I had one very special morning with him. We went to a coffee shop together. Immediately people gravitated towards him. When he finished his coffee, we walked out of the shop across the street. The sun shone. There was a an area of brilliant green grass. Isa said, “I would like to lie on that grass in the sun.”

I helped him down and arranged my bag as a pillow for his head. He unbuttoned his shirt, closed his eyes and went in to a deep reverie. I looked at him and the love I felt warmed my heart. A perfect moment.

I remembered my favourite Rumi stanza

Out beyond all ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,

There is a field. I will meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,

The world is too full to talk about.

Ideas, language, even the phrase each other doesn’t make any sense”.

On that summer morning, Isa and I lay on the green grass in silence.
